2009: Year of the Synth (again…)
by Cozgroove on Jan.27, 2009, under Music
Electro slowly forced its was back into popular music last year, with the help of an 80’s revival both in fashion and music, though thankfully not in lifestyle. With it already being a massive seller in 2009, its easy to see that major labels have jumped on the bandwagon. RnB acts being the popular choice for young chav’s everywhere, have decided that every song now needs a cheesy synth melody to make money. Now I’m partial to a bit of synth myself, but I dont need to hear it on the radio every single song, how long until we all have mullets and wear our jeans too high? I’d like to see a return to disco and/or funk! Come on people get creative!
New tracks on the way.

Events Industry Avoiding UK Jobs Decline
by Cozgroove on Jan.13, 2009, under Tech
With the economy in recession, and uk jobs in decline, the events industry has been waiting nervously. Some sources report losses of over 1500 jobs lost a day over the last 3 month, and with the collapse of Woolworths earlier this month, January looks set to have over 50,00 uk jobs lost alone.
This all makes bad news for every sector in the UK. As for the events industry, we were all expecting there to be a downturn in ticket sales, which would lead to a decline on events and uk jobs for technical staff. However, surprisingly all signs have linked to an increase of ticket sales, and new events are popping up left right and centre. People are still spending their money on events to escape the doom and gloom of the recession. The fact is, live music in particular is going to hit new heights this year, as money from album sales decreases further, labels look to cash in on touring bands, by throwing bigger and better events than ever before.

Happy New Year!
by Cozgroove on Jan.08, 2009, under Tech
Bit late now I know. Great new year for me, managing to get from one party, to spending midnight in a packed Firehouse doing sound for Ska band Melosa, and ending in the wee hours at another house party. Needless to say I slept threw the daylight on new years day. Melosa were the highlight with a fantastic set to see in the new year, my personal favourite being a ska version of Fight For Your Right To Party by the Beastie Boys. They managed to transform The Firehouse in a festival.
I am already booked up for New Years Eve 2009 as planning begins on a collabrative NYE event feautring Living Live, Stage Engage and the Exmouth Pavilion on what we are hoping will be a huge gathering to see in the new decade. Stay Tuned for news.
We were back in the studio last night with Kate Mason and have 2 new tracks on the way, aswell as the next video from The New Machine.
